Olhos de Água was once a civil parish of the municipality of Albufeira, but it was dissolved in 2013 as part of a national administrative reform. It was then merged with the parish of Albufeira, creating the new parish “Albufeira e Olhos d’Água”. In the past, Olhos de Água was a small fishing village, but with the boom of tourism it became increasingly popular thanks to its magnificent beaches and landscapes, turning into a holiday destination for many. It sits along one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Portugal, with Praia da Falésia to the east and the beaches of Santa Eulália and Maria Luísa to the west.
Here you’ll find a wide variety of restaurants and a vibrant nightlife, along with plenty of daytime activities and excursions, including panoramic boat trips, exciting water parks, and historic towns to explore. This village is the ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing holiday while still having the option to enjoy the excitement of nearby nightlife.
This area is more suited to families and romantic getaways than to large groups or party‑seekers. Although there is nightlife, it’s not the intense, high‑energy kind, and those looking for that atmosphere may find it too quiet. For visitors interested in historical sightseeing, this is also not the most suitable place, as there aren’t many monuments or attractions to visit. It is, above all, a destination for beach lovers and leisurely strolls. If you want to unwind while still having fun, this is the perfect place to do it. Come and discover this beachside paradise.
